The territory of the province of Rovigo is, from a geological point of view, of recent constitution, due to the alluvial deposits of the rivers Adige and Po, where the action of human being has been determinant through works of drainage and construction of riverbanks.

It is characterised by the presence of the two major Italian rivers and many other water streams, with sceneries that characterise the quality of life and that have their apotheosis in the Delta of Po, one of the most important humid areas of Europe, enhanced by a native floral and fauna system.
